I have been making lace for over thirty years and while I enjoy designing and making lace in traditional styles, I am very aware that lacemaking needs to move forward and do more than just recreate the designs of the past. Lacemaking techniques are unique in the way that they can be used to produce both fabric and decoration at the same time and I am sure there is great potential for using them in experimental textile art, either alone or combined with other textile techniques.

My particular interests lie in using unusual grids and stitch combinations. I work with several colours when it is appropriate but am equally happy working with just one colour and using pattern and texture to provide interest.
