Pat Brunsdon

Starting, like many do, Pat made and taught traditional bobbin and needlelace for many years before embarking on a City and Guilds course when she discovered the delights of colour and texture. Pat now enjoy taking what is usually perceived as a flat textile into free standing 3-dimensional objects. When the shapes she is working become more complex, using wire within the construction is invaluable. Although Pat's aim is to move lacemaking into more of an ‘Art Form’ she does like it to contain some recognisable technique.

Pat really values the support being part of a group gives and also the challenges of exhibiting to a given theme.

'Coffee Time' was made for 98 at 78 exhibition, ‘Meditation’ was made for the Gateways exhibition. ‘From Monks to Morris’, was made for Colour Coded at Mount Grace Priory, its inspiration being pottery used by the monks, and the William Morris wallpaper in the dining room. 'Hickory Dock' was made for Curiosity at Skipton Museum.
