Suzanne Jarvis

The purchase of a Lacemaking kit in 1987 was when Suzanne started to make Lace, first with

the aid of a text book, but quite soon a tutor was found, which aided progress. She soon realized that she had found her skill set and when a City and Guilds course was advertised, she enrolled straight away. This prompted the enrolment on a teacher training course, which would allow her to pass these new found skills on. The results of this were City and Guilds parts 1&2 in Lacemaking and a BA in education.

Suzanne was at the very first meeting of 98 Lace Group and has enjoyed the support and encouragement that comes from being a member of a dedicated group. She has also travelled to Russia, Czech Republic, Holland, Slovenia, Sweden, Ireland and Malta. Learning the Laces of these countries and meeting their Lacemakers.

She relishes the challenge of interpreting objects and abstracts using a variety of Lace techniques, with a deal of bending the rules.
