98 Lace

 We are creative lacemakers with varied textile backgrounds, united by the common goal of giving contemporary lace a livelier public profile. The group was set up following a meeting in London in 1998. Members are distributed throughout the British Isles, maintaining contact through our newsletter, ‘Network’, and occasional additional online  meetings.

We hold two residential weekends each year. The aim of these is to inspire members to produce original work, pushing forward the traditional boundaries while demonstrating the relevance of lace today. These weekends give us the opportunity to support and encourage each other, whilst developing our own individual style.
